General Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Mr. Bettag.
Present were Directors Mr. Bettag, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Meyer, Chief Svetanics,
Ms. Vincent and Local #2677 representative, Captain Jegel. There were no
Citizens of the District present.
Mr. Bettag dispensed with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
There were no additions to the agenda. Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept the
agenda as presented, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer
aye, Mr. Schloss aye.
Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept minutes from the general sessions of December
12, 2006 and December 19, 2006, and the executive sessions of December 19, 2006
and December 27, 2006 as presented, 2nd by Mr. Meyer, roll call vote Mr. Bettag
aye, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye.
Mr. Schloss gave the treasurer’s report for the month ending December 31, 2006.
Mr. Schloss reported that revenue was over budget by $120,000 for year end 2006.
Mr. Schloss stated that actual expenditures for the last month of the year are
at 80,000 under budget, so we had a really good year and it looks good for next
year’s budget also.
Mr. Schloss reported that we collected $29,281 in ambulance fees the month of
December, which ends the year at $28,328 over the amount budgeted, which makes
another good year for ambulance revenue.
Mr. Schloss reported that at the next meeting, January 23, 2007, the board will
discuss investing tax revenue for the upcoming year.
Motion by Mr. Meyer to approve the financial reports as presented, 2nd by Mr.
Schloss, roll call vote Mr. Bettag aye, Mr. Meyer aye, Mr. Schloss aye.
Chief Svetanics reported that there were no other candidates who ran against Mr.
Bettag, our current Board Chairman, for the six (6) year Board of Director term.
Chief Svetanics reported that the sewer work is finished and although the
plumber worked for three days, he stuck to the original bid at $4,600.

Chief Svetanics stated that our ambulance tires were replaced for free due to
defects, which would have been a costly repair.
Chief Svetanics reported that we answered 2,565 calls in 2006, which are more
calls than ever before.
Chief Svetanics stated that donations to the United Way surpassed those in 2005,
totaling $1,556.
Chief Svetanics reported that we received correspondence from the Department of
Justice regarding Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 regarding their
investigation of several fire districts throughout St. Louis County and that
they are closing their investigation as it relates to the Lemay Fire Protection
District.
Monthly reports presented on training by each crew member, maintenance report,
fire incident report and summary, ambulance statistics, ambulance monthly
lockbox report and MediClaims report, public relations report, community
services report, wage report, South County Fire Alarm Treasurer’s Report, a
letter from U.S. Dept. of Justice, a thank-you letter from the United Way and a
letter from St. Anthony’s Medical Center.
Next general meeting scheduled for Monday, February 12, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The
regular open meeting for bill discussion will be on Tuesday, February 20, 2007
at 3:00 p.m.
