Minutes Board of Directors Meeting 7/12/04
General Board Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. by President Mr. Stonebraker. Present were Directors Mr. Stonebraker, Mr. Schloss and Mr. Bettag. Also present were Ms. Vincent, Local 2677 Secretary Captain Jegel and one Citizen of the District, Aaron Herr.
Pledge of allegiance led by Captain Jegel.
Mr. Schloss made a motion to accept the agenda, 2nd by Mr. Bettag. Roll call vote, all ayes.
Motion by Mr. Stonebraker to accept the minutes from the general sessions of June 14, 2004 and June 23, 2004, 2nd by Mr. Bettag, roll call vote, all ayes.
Mr. Bettag gave the treasurers report for the month ending June 30, 2004. Mr. Bettag reported the District filed our audit and received confirmation from State Auditor Claire McCaskills office in Jefferson City that we had filed on time this year.
Mr. Bettag stated that our auditors, Sailor Kahn, strongly recommended that we revise our self-insured medical coverage program language to clearly state a stop-loss clause. Mr. Bettag reported that we are currently working on this project with the Districts attorney and that we should have a revision within 60 days.
Mr. Bettag stated that we are ahead of last years collection of taxes of about $60,000, but that we are behind last year in the collection of ambulance fees. Mr. Bettag reported that we are in good shape regarding the budget so far this year as everything is within our budget. Motion by Mr. Schloss to accept the treasurers report, 2nd by Mr. Stonebraker, roll call vote, all ayes.
Due to Chief Svetanics being on vacation, Mr. Bettag read from the Chiefs Report on the landscaping project on the upper parking lot. The Board agreed how well the project turned out and recommended sending a special thanks to Pvts. Frierdich and Ross and to Mrs. Ross for all their hard work and expertise.
Mr. Stonebraker reported that the new computer workstations are all installed and the Board is meeting with John Antone of Hawk iSolutions Group, Inc., on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, regarding a new maintenance agreement for the new and old equipment.
Mr. Stonebraker stated the District installed 4 smoke detectors, 5 bicycle helmets and 29 infant car seats in June. The District has bicycle helmets to give to those in need donated by St. Louis County. You must be a St. Louis County resident to be eligible for the helmets and must call to make an appointment for the fittings.
Monthly reports presented on training by each crew member, 40 hour education schedule for training, maintenance report, fire incident report and summary, ambulance statistics, lockbox monthly credit report, community services report, wage report and St. Louis Metro Fire District Alliance Minutes.
Next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 16, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. The regular open meeting for bill discussion is scheduled for Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at 3:30 p.m.
Motion by Mr. Stonebraker to adjourn the General Board meeting at 7:25 p.m., 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote, all ayes.
