Minutes Board of Directors Meeting 8/23/04


General Board Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Mr. Stonebraker. Present were Directors Mr. Stonebraker, Mr. Schloss, Mr. Bettag, Chief Svetanics and Ms. Vincent. There were no Citizens from the District present.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and approve tax rates.

Motion by Mr. Bettag to dispose of the reading of the Resolution Fixing Tax Rates for Fiscal 2004, as there were no Citizens present, 2nd by Mr. Schloss, roll call vote all ayes.

Mr. Stonebraker stated that notice of public hearing for tax rates was published on the District web site, published in the South County Journal and posted on the front door of the Firehouse and at other area businesses.

Mr. Stonebraker proceeded to read the proposed tax rates.

Mr. Stonebraker reported that the blended rate is 1.4400 per 100.00 dollars of real and personal property. Mr. Stonebraker stated that the District’s new tax rate reflects a decrease in taxes by at least .02 cents from 2003. Mr. Stonebraker noted that these rates are subject to change since we have yet to hear from the State Auditor’s Office whether there will be any corrections in our calculations.

Mr. Bettag made a motion to adopt the Resolution of the Board of Directors of Lemay Fire Protection District of St. Louis County Fixing Tax Rates for Fiscal 2004, 2nd by Mr. Stonebraker, roll call vote all ayes. (See Amended Resolution at www.lemayfireprotectiondistrict.com).

Motion by Mr. Schloss to adjourn the tax rate approval meeting at 7:30 p.m., 2nd by Mr. Bettag, roll call vote all ayes.
